About the Event

WHAT IS TUMMY TIME?

----------------------------------

Tummy time is important for infants as it prevents flat head syndrome and increases infants’ optimal development, particularly gross motor skills. It can be implemented using various techniques at the various ages in the young infancy period.

+ Take steps to decrease infants from developing flat head syndrome.

+ Develop an understanding of how to implement appropriate tummy time experiences for infants at various stages in early infancy.

+ Examine current practices of tummy time to help develop policies in infant care settings.

+ Bring your babies!

+ Refreshments will be provided!!!

ABOUT CARMELA:

Carmela McCleary holds a Master Degree in Early Childhood Education, is Program for Infant Toddler Care (PITC) certified in Relationship-based care practices for Modules I-V, has 10 years as an Infant Toddler Specialist, and 6 years as a High Quality preschool teacher in Head Start Programs.  Currently, Carmela is the Lead Trainer at Child & Family Resources where she provides instruction on Child Development Coursework as well as guides the practices of childcare providers in Morris County childcare centers and Family Childcare homes.
